SMAK Saturday and Layers of Life

Happy Saturday!!
Andrea here on the last Saturday of August 2013
Where did Summer go?
I haven't even gone to the beach yet!

Instead of beach time we are getting ready for back to school
On Tuesday my oldest starts her last year in high school
And my youngest starts her first year of high school

So in thinking of what I wanted to do for today's project
with school on my mind...
a chalkboard card of encouragement sprang to mind!

I started out with the 'you can do anything' sentiment from the August SMAK kit
then I used the March SMAK kit - Chalk it Up which has amazing chalkboard style stamps

I also want to share another project I made with this month's SMAK kit
You may have seen it on a Unity Thursday
A card for my youngest's birthday

As it is the last day of August I would be remiss if I didn't remind you of this month's LOL kit
What a beautiful Stamp set- Ever Changing
Grab it while you can!

And just because enabling is one of my favourite hobbies..

Hello everyone!
It's Thienly here to HOPEFULLY inspire you today!

Well, I was inspired by this photo...

 photo quilt_zps9aaa7761.jpg

along with many beautiful quilting that's out there...
and thought that it would be so much fun to create a PAPER QUILT!

I've had some of these beautiful Ann Butler stamps sitting in my stash,
and thought that it would be pretty to make a little project using the {be inspired} Challenge colors.

I looked through my ink collection and found these -
a bit different but still gives a similar feel :)

I love them and pretty pretty colors, too!

I stamped with various colors, cut them out and stitched them together...
and here's what I made!

Growing In Unity Wednesday!

Welcome to another week of Growing in Unity! This week Rachel Bogner is up sharing her wonderful Unity creations!

Meet Rachel:

Here is a little something about Rachel:

"I am Rachel Bogner. I have been crafting my entire life. I got into paper crafting when I was in the eighth grade and wanted to make my own envelopes to send to my pen pal in Italy. I used old scenes from the National Geographic Magazines we had around the house. Scrapbooking became a huge part of life when my first son was born in 2007, and I shortly turned to card making when I was taken to a Stampin' Up! party. I have been a Unity Stamp Addict since 2009, when I first purchased the May Kit Of The Month. I have so much Unity, I have ran out of places to hide.... I mean store it! I hope everyone enjoys seeing what I make during this week.
This is also my birthday week (September 1!!!), so make sure that you leave a comment on my blog for a chance to win some fabulous Unity!"

Check out this great project from Rachel for this week:

Be sure to swing on by Rachel's Blog each day this week for loads of fun Unity inspiration and a chance to win 2 itty bitty stamps!

Till next week!

I know those bats are suppose to be spooky
but aren't they super cute?
I have details about this card on my blog.

I'm obsessed with teal and orange right now.
SCARY obsessed.
I blame it on the current Unity {be inspired} challenge.

I keep coming back to them in different ways.

And don't forget this...
Hurry and fill up your cart...
it all ends at Midnight central time.

I can't tell you how much FUN it has been hanging out with this amazing group of ladies, I want to stay forever and ever and EVER!

I thought this cloudy background paired perfectly with this ADORABLE itty bitty which you can grab HERE.
I think I made the clouds look a little stormier than I intended, but overall I'm proud of myself :)

Best time ever... SMAK Saturday!!!

Hello Unity Friends!

It's Thienly here with a SMAK post!
It's not very often I do a layout, but for this,
I decided to take on a challenge and attempt it again!

I love the new kit...
(well, I love EVERY kit!)

and when I thought about what I'd make with it...

My wedding day came to my mind!
It definitely was the best day ever,
and I've yet to make a layout about it,
so decided that this would be the time.

Well, here's my take on a layout using these stamps!

 photo DSC_1911_zps28e18ef7.jpg

I used So Noted papers from Carta Bella -
just love the pretty pastel colors!

 photo DSC_1907_zps463c41f5.jpg

I used the big tag to record our special date...
and strung through twine along with buttons and wooden doilies.

 photo DSC_1908_zps33184a55.jpg

Just love that Daily Journal stamp!

 photo DSC_1910_zps81347a95.jpg

The little tags are so cute -
was perfect to jot down little notes ;)

 photo DSC_1906_zpsa81e9f57.jpg

Alright -
don't laugh at me.
I don't have a single DIGITAL shot of my wedding
(eek. totally shows how old I am!)
I had the hardest time finding a photo to scrap!
However, this worked.
It even has the same yellow tone as these pretty papers!

 photo DSC_1909_zpsb0190ab5.jpg

This probably is my fave part of my layout -
I used Epiphany Crafts to add epoxy onto those silhouettes,
and played with twine to create a 'heart'.

Hope that this layout inspired you to make one with your SMAK!
If you haven't signed up -
you're missing out! :)
