Guest Designer - Stamped Milk Bottles

 Hello Friends

It's Mandi here back with my last guest designer post. I have had so much fun showing you my Unity creations over this past month. I can't believe February has come and gone already!

Today I am showing you my most favourite way to use my stamps. Stamping on to painted glass bottles or jars. The stamps I am using today are called French Kiss Life.  As soon as I saw these stamps I knew that I wanted to use them on bottles. So this idea has been milling around in my head for months. I am glad to be finally getting around to making them.

All you need to do is find some bottles or jars that you like with a flat surface to stamp on. Paint your bottles in a colour scheme of your choice. I went with an ombre lilac, white and pink theme. You can use any paint but I like to use chalk paint as it adheres to glass really well. Then, once they are completely dry, stamp your bottles with archival ink. I find the easiest way to do this is to stick my stamp down on my desk, ink the stamp, then take my bottle and roll it from one end of the stamp to the other while pressing down quite firmly. I then took a nail file and distressed the tops a little. I finished them off by adding some twine. You can also seal with them with some mod podge if you choose but I like the chalky finish of the paint.

I hope that this leaves you inspired to make your own or at least to step out and try something new!

Before I sign off I want to say a huge thanks to Unity for giving me the opportunity to guest design. It truly has been an amazing month.  Also to my Unity friends for leaving me some lovely comments on my projects.

Have a beautiful day!

Floral Thanks Cards with March SMAK Kit

Good morning! Heather here to share a little trio of cards I made with the brand new SMAK kit - when I find a beautiful large focal image like this, I love to make a few of them - so easy to create them all at the same time. Also...I don't have to choose which color of flower I want to make - I can make them all! :)

Here is that amazing March SMAK Kit - I'm hoping I have more time soon to play with all those flowers - they are AMAZING! For these cards I just used the flower on the top right and watercolored them in in - then fussy cut them out. (((You can read all about the SMAK kit membership HERE - between this, and the other monthly kit options - Unity has you covered!)))

I added an embossed and stitched background, a simple die cut sentiment - and attached the flowers with foam adhesive for dimension. Here is a close up of each color:

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!!!

Inspire Wednesday!

Hi Unity peepers!!

Jolande here with Inspire Wednesday!
Last September I was in Minnesota, visiting the Unity stamp company!!
I will be going this year again, because if there is something that inspires me,
it's talking with all the people that work there.

Angela and I were talking about new designers and.......I had an idea.
Back in the Nederlands I had a talk with a good friend of mine,
a BFF friend, Marleen van Meerendonk.
She is a self-taught mixed media artist.

And you know what???

we are working together now Unity Mixed Media Stamps!!

Isn't that exciting news??
You have to wait until the beginning of April,
but to give you a little bit of inspiration,
here is some work from her.

There are a lot of videos on her blog, you can find them here!!

Have a great week and....see you back tomorrow with the blog hop!

Growing in Unity Wednesday!

It's GIU Wednesday and let's welcome Wynne this week!

Meet Wynne:

Here is a little something about Wynne:
"Hi there…I am super excited to be this week’s GIU! I am a mom of a very active 6 year old who keeps me on my toes, a wife of a very supportive husband who understands my love for paper crafting, and a middle school ESOL (English Speaker of Other Languages) teacher for 20 years…which definitely keeps me busy! I have been making cards for about 9 years now and love every minute that I can escape down to my craft room. When I started making cards years ago a friend of mine told me that she loved my CAS style…I had no idea what it meant so I looked it up…Clean and Simple…which definitely describes my cards and projects which I can’t wait to share with you all…"

Check out her great project this week:

Be sure to swing on by Wynne's blog each day this week for loads of great Unity inspiration and ideas and your chance to win some Unity goodies!

DT Tuesday with Angeline

Happy Tuesday!
Angeline here to share with you a NEW Quick Tip VIDEO and a quick card using the February KOM "Allow Beauty".

Watch video here | Watch video at Youtube

For my card, I did some quick stamping on some cardstock and start coloring!

Unity Stamp: DT Tuesday with Angeline #unitystampco #scrappyscrappy #bible #bibleart #quicktipvideo #koibrushpen #brushpen #coloring #flowers

I did an easy brush pen blending on the flowers using Sakura Koi coloring brush pens, and filled the letters in for the Bible verse using Zig Wink of Stella in Gold.

For the shadowing on the flowers, just follow the stamps outlines (the dots) and color them in :)

Guest Designer ~ You Are Beautiful

Hello Unity Friends
It's Mandi here with another guest designer post.
How much do you love this flower stamp? It is so BEAUTIFUL!
I made this card for my Mum's birthday which is today!
She loves flowers so this stamp made a perfect card for her.

I used Brusho paint powders to colour the flowers and fussy cut them out.
Then I got some watercolor paper and created a background using black brusho.
Once it was dry I tore the edges to give it a distressed look.
I  did the same with the sentiment. I mounted it all on to the card with some foam dots.
Finally, I attached it all to a pink and black card base.

The flowers are from this stamp set is called As We Go Along

The sentiment I used is from the Being Yourself stamp set.

These are two of my FAVORITE Unity stamps at the moment.
They also happen to be on sale today for $7 each!!
Now is a great time to grab these stamps if you like them.
These are crazy prices!!

Thanks so much for stopping by have a lovely day!!

Mandi :)

Kit of the Month Monday!

It's Monday! Not all Mondays are bad... especially a Monday at Unity! This is Rachel Kleinman here to share three cards I created that feature the Fabulous February Kit of the Month!

I LOVE this birthday cake image, and the sentiment is such a unique way to say 'happy birthday'. I paired the image with some balloon pattern paper and called it finished!

Next I had to use those gorgeous flowers. I found a very small and simple sentiment from the June 2015 kit of the month to pair with the image.

The Kit of the Month subscription is such a fabulous membership to be a part of. For only $26 a month (includes shipping!) you get a FULL sheet of rubber stamps sent to your door every single month!!
